2. Che Tulum

Lovely hostel in Tulum, one of the very few offering a pool. This is a popular option for the budget conscious travelers, youngers crowds, or people wanting to meet like minded travelers. There are different meals and activities on a daily basis and the dormitories offer enough space for privacy which does not make you feel as if you were in a classic hostel: the single beds in each dorm feature a privacy curtain and lighting. Private rooms are also available for added privacy. You’ll love the design of the extensive pool deck with multi-color wood elements. The place is geared towards the younger crowd . You’ll love  hammocks at the back patio as well as the ability to use bikes. Travelling solo? Not a problem: the daily activities onsite foster a community feeling therefore you’ll be surprised to meet people who may become you next travel companions or lifelong friends. 3. Oostel

One of the newest additions to the family of hostels in Tulum. Want to pay hostel prices without feeling as if you were in a hostel? Oostel will give you just that. The dorms have their own private doors offering added privacy instead of the usual curtain. Good water pressure in the showers and cold water refillers outside the room are an added bonus. The beds are comfortable and WIFI fast enough. Bracelets are provided upon check in allowing you to pay for extra services as you go, making you entire experience sas hassle free as possible. Have more than one pool at your disposal is also a plus, alongside the free bikes to ride to the beach/cenotes (bikes are somewhat pricey to rent in Tulum so this will help you save more cash!). Aside from the unusual check in process and one you look past it, you’ll enjoy your stay. Being able to open your room door with a bracelet is one of the coolest features available at Oostel. Being close to the ADO bus station, if you get to Tulum late at night, you wont need need to search for your hostel in the dark. Excellent value.

4. La Palmita

The design as you approach the main entrance is quaint with the half palapa roof and vertical wooden beams with plants cascading down the side. You’ll love the perfect location only a couple of minutes from the main road and colorful touches throughout the property. The beds are comfy and air conditioning is available in all rooms. There an excellent water pressure in the bathrooms and staff is polite and attentive.The private rooms feature a double beds and a lovely balcony covered with a palapa roof. There are white linen curtain on every bed in the dorms for added privacy. Electronic safes are available  for guests to use and store their valuables, as well as desk. The rooftop is lovely with a nice panoramic view on the grounds and comfy hammocks . You’ll appreciate the simplicity of the overall decor. Great value for money.

5. Mayan Monkey

You’ll love the design within the common area with string lights  all around the pool and discreet but warm lighting. The overall design is clean and minimalist, with chic touches not typical of a budget accommodation, from the yellow triangular structured on the walls in the communal area to the grand palapa roofs and swings by the bars. The private rooms are spacious with comfy queen beds , decorated with simple touches. There an excellent water pressure in the bathrooms and staff is polite and attentive.  Excellent value

6. Holistika 

Think of this hotel as a jungle luxe spot: you’ll love the multiple nooks providing guests plenty of space to relax. You may have already come across multiple images of the hotel on Instagram with the lovely art pieces sprinkled throughout the grounds. You’ll love the hammocks suspended above the pool and serene environment fostering calm and relaxation. You’ll appreciate the simple decor and 50’s vibe style patterned flooring in the bedrooms, as well as the hammocks provided. Yoga classes are provided daily.  Excellent value.

7. Casa abanico

You’ll love the colorful bedrooms in this property : private rooms feature a double bed with mosquito nets surrounding it. The beds are comfy and staff is polite and attentive, ready to help guests with local recommendations. The overall look leans towards a more rustic feel , with classic wooden elements. You’ll appreciate the simplicity of the rooms. Located only 10 minutes walk from the city centre, you’ll be able to access all local amenities within a short walking distance. The gardens are peaceful, so is the common area where you can sit and have meal. Great value in Tulum.

Lovely hotel in Tulum for the budget conscious travel. For under $25 you can stay in a lovely cabana surrounding with immaculate garden. The free bikes available or guests to use is a bonus to get around town. The shared bathrooms are kept sparkling clean and breakfast portions are generous. The pool is just the right size, lined with loungers. You’ll appreciate the jungle vibe, ideal to rest, coupled with the outdoor  camping vibe without sacrificing the comforts. The cabanas come with full mosquito net enclosures and high palapa roofs, as well as minimal furniture. The shared common area is located outdoor under a cosy palapa as well. 

Staff is polite and attentive. Great value overall.

9. Bambu Gran Palas

Lovely unique hotel in Tulum : unique in the sense that the rooms are entirely made out of bambu elements, from the floor to the ceiling. Fans are provided in every room by the beds and the location is excellent and close to all local amenities. Staff is polite and attentive always willing to help. Probably one of the most eclectic accommodations in tulum.   Have a cenote right next to you while enjoy a meal is lovely. If you’re not worried about not having access to air conditioning, this place is worth a try. Excellent value.

10. Lucky Traveler

The ambiance is what sets this hostel from others. whether you’re travelling solo or with friends wanting to meet like minded travellers, the entire team will make you feel welcome from the moment you step into the hostel. Luck Traveler hostel is geared towards the younger crowd, offering lovely accomodations for the budget conscious travellers. Among the facilities at this property are a tour desk  along with free WiFi throughout the property. The accommodation offers a 24-hour front desk, a shared kitchen and currency exchange. All guest rooms at the hotel come with a seating area and air conditioning. Guests at the accommodation can enjoy a buffet breakfast in the morning.
